COVID
The big news in Australia is of course there’s an increasing number of locally acquired COVID in Sydney’s northern beaches. Checking the data from COVID19Data. All those blue bars are transmissions from local sources.
Essentially there are 72 active cases in NSW. I don’t envy the decision that needs to be made from those who booked a Sydney trip over the coming festive season. Here’s what the situation looks like if you travel from NSW to another state. Essentially you might be quarantined on the way back. But it’s going to be an evolving situation, you might have the border close on you.
The world is at 21,502,717 active cases, and 1,694,152 total deceased. Scores of people are trying to get out of London before the region is put into lockdown. The UK government thinks there’s a more infectious strain of COVID going around over there, but it’s really hard to find any scientific paper on it. Turns out there are no scientific papers, and the scientific community is skeptical of the UK government’s claim, to a more infectious strain. It’s just a reminder, don’t trust what anyone says. Verify everything you read and hear from media, the government and experts.

Market and Economics

Conspiracy theories and bitcoin is hilarious, I was ROFL.
And since you probably didn’t learn anything from that video, here’s one that teaches you french fries game theory where you will hopefully learn something. The aim is to built financial systems that can’t be manipulated, and this will ensure fairness.
Here is some good financial analysis of MicroStrategy recent debt deal. You might need to be a little bit financially savvy to read through that, but basically they are raising debt to to buy bitcoin, since debt is so cheap in the current environment. And bitcoin is trading at $23,500 USD or $30,000 AUD, even going to a high of $31,000 AUD at one point.
FinCEN has proposed to apply AML regulation to non custodial crypto wallets and here’s everything wrong with this.
Other Stuff
So I’m typing this week’s update on a borrowed Logitech G512 Carbon keyboard, and when I type I have the each key press send out a wave of rainbow light, which is pretty cool… and distracting. For those less tech savvy it’s a mechanical keyboard, so each key has it’s own individual switch which makes it feel like one of those really old keyboards from yesteryear. It’s been this trend that high end keyboards are moving toward mechanical. I’m not quite use to it yet since I literally just plugged it in to type this update and I find I’m making a lot of typo from the keyboard that I’m use to typing on. For those considering a mechanical keyboard and don’t have a complex setup as I do, then maybe consider a wireless keyboard from Keychron – I’ve heard good things about them, and of course do your own research and look up some reviews. The Keychron just doesn’t work for me since I have 1 keyboard shared between multiple devices through a USB hub. I would be thinking about a G915 or G915 TKL, but both are insanely expensive for a keyboard.
Also an update on the new PC I’m going to built, it’s just in a holding pattern at the moment, there’s no stock on items that I want, and it’a also wise to usually leave 1 month for your urge to make big purchases to see if you still want something in 1 month’s time.
This guy’s soul raged with the heat of 1000 suns during this 40min rant at NVIDIA to his 12mil subscribers. It was so palatable and so satisfying to watch. He was so upset. Someone is sooo fired at NVIDIA. NVIDIA makes graphics card for PC in case you didn’t know, and they were trying to strong arm some of the tech reviewers on youtube to tow the company line, when youtube reviewers are essentially independent. And people who look for reviews are looking for the thoughts of the reviewers free of any influence by the company.
